EUROPEAN MASTERS ATHLETS DESISION BY EMA COUNSIL

IN COOPERATION WITH EUROPEAN ATHLETICS For fair play and clean sport

      Decision made by EMA Council

         Case affecting: Suspension of Mr. Symeon Symeonidis – member of the Greek Veterans Athletics Federation

            For using two different kind of birth dates in entering national, international competitions and             championships Mr. Symeonidis has participated in competition in younger age categories.

            During the EMA annual Council Meeting, hold in Basel, December 6^th, 2015 it has been taken the      following decision:

            Mr. Symeon Symeonidis and the Greek Veterans Athletic Federation are responsible to change          all dates of birth that are written in any result lists of the national championships as well as WMA             and EMA/EVAA championships in the last 12   years. A copy of these corrections has to be sent
            to WMA Statistician Sandy Pashkin and to EMA Statistician Ivar Soederlind. A copy of the new    passport has to be send to EMA   Council in January 2016. A letter of regret has to be send by
            Mr. Symeonidis to EMA Council Members. Mr. Symeonidis is asked to send a letter of regret to both            the Greek Clubs and to Balkan Athletics Veterans Association.  EMA offers him a page on the             website to publish his regret.

            Furthermore it was agreed that Symeon Symeonidis has to step down from his    national and
            international offices in 2016 and give the next generation the possibility to work for the             masters’         development.

Until now Mr. Symeon Symeonidis only changed his passport with birth-date and didn’t fulfil all the other demanded decisions of EMA Council.

In these cases EMA Council decided unanimously to suspend provisionally Mr Symeon Symeonidis from any national and international Athletics competitions and any official positions in masters athletics, pending the showing of the original certificate of birth and the hearing that is offered to him in Ancona on Monday 28^th, 2016 at 14:00 hrs in EMA office during EMACI 2016 in Palaindoor Ancona. An interpreter should be invited by the suspended. After that the EMA Council will take a new decision.
